We recommend at least two repeaters for extra coverage. Now, what accessories do these two repeaters need?
2 duplexers
$119-$500 each
1 antenna
$230-$2,300 each
1 antenna stand
$50-$300 each
6 cables
$20-$200 each
What do duplexers do? Duplexers A duplexer is an electronic device that allows bi-directional communication over a single path. In radar and radio communications systems, it isolates the receiver from the transmitter while permitting them to share a common antenna. Most radio repeater systems include a duplexer. In simple terms, this allows one antenna for each repeater, instead if two antennas per repeater.
We recommend Capacity Plus trunking. Why Capacity Plus? Capacity Plus is a Digital radio service by Motorola that utilizes a minimum of 1 repeater for up to 254 channels. Why not DMR? DMR conventional uses 1 repeater for a maximum of only 2 channels. While DMR is a free license on repeaters, Capacity Plus is worth the extra price for the licenses. Another functionality of Capacity Plus is the All Call feature. If the radio has an All Call channel programmed, transmitting on this channel will allow broadcasting to all radios on every Capacity Plus channel. How many radios can be on a repeater? Up to 1,200 radios can be on just 1 Capacity Plus repeater.
